Q&A WITH AMBER
Q: Can you tell us about Fogo de Chao and your specific role there?
The founders of Fogo de Chão grew up on a traditional Southern Brazilian farm. It is here that they learned to cook in the churrasco style of grilling tradition that would become the backbone of our story. Fogo’s mission is to ignite fire and joy to care for our team, our guests, and our communities. Our vision is to bring the soul of Southern Brazilian hospitality to the heart of every city.
I am the Sales Manager for Fogo de Chão, here in the heart of Towson. My main responsibility is to book large groups in our private dining area while also accommodating smaller partiers throughout the whole restaurant. Whether it’s a group of 10 or 200, Fogo de Chão, Towson can accommodate any size event. I also handle all of our delivery and pickup catering orders!
I truly enjoy working for this company. The Brazilian hospitality is truly off the charts here at Fogo. I have worked for many restaurant groups and hotels in the past, and Fogo feels like a family with the intention to please each and every guest that walks through our doors. We look out for each other and our guests.
Q: What misconceptions, if any, might people have about Fogo de Chão?
One very common misconception about Fogo is that you need to fast for days before enjoying a meal here. Many people are unaware of the fact that you do not have to necessarily order the full churrasco (endless meat) service. You can come in and simply just enjoy the Market Table (our salad bar full of fresh Brazilian sides, fruits, cheese, and charcuterie) on it’s own. We also have our BAR FOGO menu which consists of everything from hearts of palm dip, Sliders, and our delicious Picanha Burger!
Is this heaven? No it’s Towson.
Q: Do you only handle corporate events?
We handle all sorts of events here at Fogo Towson! Everything from company holiday parties & meetings to birthday parties and baby showers, you name it we accommodate 😊
Q: What is your favorite cut of meat offered by Fogo de Chão, and why?
The Picanha is my favorite! This isa Brazilian cut of the prime part of the top sirloin. It is super flavorful!
