Hello, and welcome to The Towsontown Torch!

My name is Chris Forhan, Publisher of The Towsontown Torch! 

We’re thrilled to have you on board as we launch our weekly newsletter dedicated
to Towson, delivering only the most important news, events and other happenings around Towson.

Having lived in the Towson area for the past 21 years, I’ve noticed the gradual disappearance of local news coverage with nothing specifically dedicated to Towson. Also as someone who has spent my career working in digital media, and digital publishing, I saw an opportunity to start my own business where I help bring back some local coverage and make it successful by leveraging modern technology, and a format that matches current day reading preferences.

After months of planning and building, it is with great excitement that we launch the first issue of the TowsonTown Torch on January 1, 2025. The “Torch” is a weekly e-newsletter sent to your inbox with locally curated, hand-picked news and information about Towson, MD.

Our hope is to provide you with all of the information on Towson that you simply can’t afford to miss, while helping you “live your best life” in the area. We also promise to show up each week organized and ready to cut through the traditional news clutter. We’ll keep it light, avoiding the divisive, polarizing practices that have caused many of us to tune out of traditional news sources entirely.

We are fired up for 2025 and excited to have you along for the ride!
