Your next business partner, mentor, or friend could be someone you meet over coffee in Towson. But a great first conversation is only the beginning. Keeping that connection alive is where relationships takes shape.

That’s the idea behind Spunj, a professional networking app built right here in Baltimore County by Restyn, a software studio based in Owings Mills (that is also the parent company of the Towson Torch). Now soft-launching on the Apple App Store (the Android version is still in the works), Spunj puts a simple principle at the center of networking: you have to meet in person to connect and you have to have been to a business to be able to recommend it.

Spunj’s mission is to get people off the couch and into meaningful, powerful relationships for business and for life. For Towson’s entrepreneurs, small-business owners, and professionals, that starts with showing up, having a conversation, and finding a reason to stay in touch.

When people meet face to face, Spunj helps them exchange profiles and remember the context behind the introduction. A name becomes someone you talked with, an idea you shared, or a conversation you want to continue.

That emphasis on authenticity extends to the places and people users recommend. Spunj lets users save places they’ve actually visited, using a GPS check at the moment they tag a location. Through Spunj Pro, they can share those places and recommend people they’ve personally met.

Think of passing along a favorite Towson lunch spot after eating there, or recommending a professional after meeting them or receiving services yourself. Each recommendation starts with firsthand experience.

Built locally, Spunj invites Towson and the wider Baltimore County community to help bring the vision of meaningful personal relationships being the foundation for local businesses to life. The soft launch is a chance to make your next introduction the beginning of something lasting: a collaboration, a friendship, or an opportunity neither person realized before they were in person asking the question, “Is this connection Spunj-worthy?”.

Get out. Meet someone. Build something that lasts.
