Happy weekend!

We are barreling into summer at full speed, and it is finally starting to get hot outside. This week, we are headed to the Greek island of Crete for a beautiful new sip!

Meet the 2024 Alexakis Assyrtiko-fresh and bright, this modern take on a classic white wine is truly delightful. Notes of crisp citrus, juicy green apples, and ripe pears are all wrapped up in a healthy dose of coastal minerality for which the wine and food from Crete are both famous. In fact, Crete is one of the oldest wine regions in the world with known production dating all the way back to the Minoan era of the Bronze Age, approximately 3300 to 1200 BCE. While Cretan wines were not always considered desirable in ancient Greece, they gained huge popularity during the Roman Empire. Throughout history, Cretan wines were used as a bargaining chip for both domestic and international trade with other civilizations. Now, Crete is experiencing a modern Renaissance in its winemaking with the rediscovery of ancient grapes being blended with contemporary techniques to create delicious, interesting, and approachable wines available for all. Pair this beauty with grilled fish, lemon rosemary chicken, or your favorite cheese and berries for the perfect summer picnic.

And now for my special announcement:
