According to the interwebs, Galentine's Day originated from a 2010 episode of the NBC sitcom "Parks and Recreation". The concept was introduced by the show's protagonist, Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler. In the episode, Leslie gathers her female friends for a brunch on February 13th to celebrate their friendships, leaving their husbands and boyfriends at home.
📅 When and Where: Date: February 13th, the day before Valentine's Day.
📍 Location: The idea was born in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana, but it has since become a global celebration, Galentine's Day is now widely recognized as a day to honor and celebrate female friendships and empowerment! (I had no idea) 🤦🏻‍♂️
And if you are feeling left out you may be relieved to learn that Palentine’s Day is gaining popularity as well.
