The new office, formerly operated by Central Credit Union of Maryland, officially transitioned to the Point Breeze name on October 1, following the merger of the two credit unions earlier this year.
For Towson residents, the expansion means greater access to a locally based financial institution offering personal banking, lending, financial guidance, and other services.
What Does This Mean for Towson Residents?
Perhaps the biggest news is that more people in the Towson area are now eligible to become Point Breeze members.
The expansion opens membership to individuals who work, worship, or belong to an organization within 20 miles of the former Central Credit Union branch on LaSalle Road.
Unlike traditional banks, credit unions are member-owned financial institutions that generally return profits to members through competitive rates, lower fees, and expanded services.
Point Breeze has served Maryland communities for more than 90 years and currently serves over 70,000 members, with more than $1 billion in assets.
A Familiar Location With a New Name
The Towson office isn't an entirely new banking location. It previously operated as Central Credit Union of Maryland, which merged with Point Breeze on April 1, 2026.
Following several months of integration, member accounts officially transitioned to Point Breeze's banking systems on October 1.

Growing Its Baltimore County Presence
The Towson office joins Point Breeze locations in Hunt Valley, Rosedale, Bel Air, Westminster, and Owings Mills, along with another newly transitioned office in Perry Point.
