Towson’s beloved summer tradition, Feet on the Street, returned on Friday, June 6, with a triumphant new look, a record-breaking crowd, and a renewed sense of community. This year’s kickoff was more than just a return—it was a full-blown revival, thanks to a refreshed layout, curated vendors, high-energy performances, and perfect summer weather.
Locals posted up for a good view of the band
Now hosted on Pennsylvania Avenue between York Road and Washington Avenue, the festival’s new location provided extra space, improved flow, and a prime downtown backdrop for the fun. More than 700 people poured into the area between 6 and 9 p.m., making it one of the most successful First Fridays Towson has ever seen.
Attendees were greeted with sunshine and warm summer air, as the day’s high of 86 degrees dipped into a pleasant 69 by nightfall. The streets were filled with smiling faces, upbeat tunes, and the delicious scent of local fare drifting through the air. Restaurants and bars joined in on the action, with CVP Towson dishing out signature orange crushes at a brisk pace and no long lines, and C&R Pub keeping the good vibes rolling by opening their garage doors to welcome guests in and out throughout the evening.
The real showstopper of the night was the live performance from Lithium and Candy. After working out some technical bugs the cover band made their festival debut in unforgettable fashion, delivering a dynamic setlist that had the multigenerational crowd dancing in the streets. From nostalgic late ’90s and early 2000s hits by the Green Day, the Foo Fighters and Blink182, to high-energy rock staples from Creed and Metallica, the band’s range captivated everyone from teens to longtime Towson residents.
Lithium and Candy was a crowd favorite
Beyond the music, the event featured an expanded vendor village thanks to a new partnership with Rosebud Flea, a vintage marketplace rooted in Towson. Founded by local creative Trevor Brake, Rosebud Flea brought its signature flair to the festival, offering a curated selection of handmade goods, vintage fashion, collectibles, and artwork. With over 60 vendors on site, the market gave festival goers a chance to discover one-of-a-kind treasures while supporting small businesses and artists.
From food trucks to family-friendly activities, this year’s Feet on the Street proved to be more than just a block party—it was a showcase of Towson’s evolving culture, its passionate community, and its dedication to making downtown a destination.
Whether you were sipping a cocktail, shopping for vintage vinyl, or dancing with your kids to a Backstreet Boys cover, June’s First Friday had something for everyone. With such a strong start to the summer series, one thing is clear: Feet on the Street is officially back—and Towson has never looked better doing.
Congratulations to the Towson Chamber, the participating business on Pennsylvania Ave and beyond, and to all who assisted in the planning and execution of what turned out to be a truly epic evening!
