How does a kid filming skate videos on the streets of Towson end up behind the camera of what’s being called the next great American Christmas movie? Meet Jon Bregel—a Towson native whose unconventional path took him from viral internet fame to working with Taylor Swift and legends like Spike Lee and Jay Duplass. Fresh off the success of The Baltimorons, Jon is now pouring his heart into Selah, a deeply personal documentary about grief and healing. How Do I Stop Being So Hard on Myself?
“A couple of years ago, I saw a picture of myself from a recent vacation and was surprised to see how much weight I had gained. I knew clothes were fitting differently, but I guess I was in a bit of denial about where my weight was.

I immediately went into a shame spiral. I started criticizing myself for letting my weight get so out of hand. It felt awful. I figured that being hard on myself would inspire me to get disciplined about working out and eating right.”
