Apparently every 12 years a 28 year old quarterback leads the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl victory. It’s happened twice, can it happen again?

Playoff fever is gripping Baltimore, and as the Ravens head to Buffalo to face the Bills on Sunday in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs, the Purple Friday Caravan is set to pass through Towson, arriving at 1:15 p.m. at Patriot Plaza (400 Washington Ave, Towson, Md. 21204) for a pep rally featuring cheerleaders, mascot Poe, and Baltimore’s Marching Ravens.

Wait it’s not even Easter yet!

The collection of live Christmas trees for recycling in Baltimore County will take place over a two-week period, beginning Thursday, January 9. Pickup dates vary by location and are not scheduled in advance; residents must place trees out by Wednesday,  January 15 to ensure collections. Christmas trees will not necessarily be collected on your scheduled trash or recycling day–please leave trees out until collection occurs.

Residents should place trees out for pick-up at the same location where they would normally place trash and recycling for collection. Be sure to set out live trees only, with no lights, decorations, tinsel, bags or tree stands. Residents in apartments or condominiums should consult their property manager to learn how to properly set out Christmas trees for recycling. Towson University tight end Carter Runyon will continue his quest for the professional ranks as he has accepted an invite to the 2025 East West Shrine Bowl on January 30. The East-West Shrine Bowl is a post season college football all-star game that brings together the best college football players in the country. Runyon is the second player in Towson history who will play in the Shrine Bowl.
